Axis Learning Pods Library Guidelines

📚A Shared Resource for Families

🌱 Purpose

The Pod Library allows families to pool books and resources so everyone has access to a rich variety of stories, guides, and inspiration—without each family needing to purchase everything individually.

đź“– What to Share

  • Children’s Books: picture books, readers, seasonal stories, folk tales, atlases.
  • Parent Resources: homeschooling guides, parenting books, educational philosophy.
  • Faith & Character: devotionals, Christian living, virtue stories.
  • Specialty & Seasonal: Advent/Easter books, holiday unit studies, themed collections.

🌍 How It Works

  1. Bring a Book (or Two) → Each family contributes a couple of books they’d like to share.
  2. Label Your Book → Place a sticky note or card inside with your name.
  3. Check It Out → Families may borrow books for 2–4 weeks.
  4. Return with Care → Treat borrowed books as your own. Return on time and in good condition.
  5. Rotate Regularly → New books may be added/swapped each month to keep the collection fresh.

🤝 Optional Roles

  • Pod Librarian (rotates monthly): Keeps sign-out sheet and helps families track books.
  • Pod Curator: Suggests themed books that match the weekly Axis curriculum (e.g. Africa, Oceans, Seasons).

🌟 Benefits

  • Save Money: No need for every family to buy every book.
  • Expand Access: Enjoy a wide variety of perspectives and resources.
  • Build Community: Sharing creates trust, generosity, and deeper bonds.
  • Model Values: Children see adults valuing knowledge and sharing openly.

✨ Together, our shelves become one larger library. By sharing our resources, we multiply abundance for every child in the pod.
